01

Drag and drop to collect images, videos, and PDFs

Just drag and drop files or folders to bring them in. Everything is stored locally, so you can see it right away from your PC, phone, or tablet.

02

Tags, authors, favorites, collections — sort it your way

Tidy up what you collect. With simple actions, your library grows into something that is easy to come back to later.

03

AutoTag, color search, and similar-image search help you find things fast. Even with tens of thousands of assets, searching and browsing stay smooth.

04

A viewer that makes browsing fun

Swipe through pages at a good pace, with zoom, the color picker, quick pen markup, video playback, and spread view for comics. A viewer that is fun to browse with and never gets in the way of your work.

05

Stays local — fully offline, privacy kept

Your data lives entirely on your own PC. Nothing is ever uploaded to the cloud. And over your home network or a VPN, you can still reach the same library from your phone or tablet.

Download

Choose your platform

Caramel Board works by installing the manager app on your PC (Windows/macOS). Once it is installed, you can also browse the same library from your phone or tablet over your home LAN/Wi-Fi.

macOS

  1. Open the downloaded file and drag Caramel Board into your Applications folder.
  2. If you see "cannot verify the developer" on first launch, Control-click (right-click) the app in Finder and choose "Open".
  3. If it still won't open, go to System Settings → "Privacy & Security" and click "Open Anyway" near the bottom to allow it.

Windows

  1. Double-click the downloaded installer to launch it.
  2. If "Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen) appears, click "More info", then "Run anyway".
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts. When it finishes, launch Caramel Board from the Start menu or your desktop.

Because this is a BETA, your OS may show a confirmation message on first launch or during install.

About this project

Caramel Board is a solo project by nazunya. I first built it back in 2022 as a personal tool, and spent a long time using and tweaking it privately. Along the way, hearing from creator friends and fans of illustration and fan-made work, I started to think it might actually help other people too — so I polished up the rough edges and finally released it.

It is built with anime, manga, design, original creation, and doujin culture in mind — for managing reference material, organizing your own works, keeping track of e-books, or just enjoying manga and art in private. I would love for it to support your creative work, or simply be a tool you enjoy your favorite pieces with!

The app is completely free to use, but there are yearly license fees, development tool costs, and, well, my daily coffee to keep me going... If you are able to support the project on FANBOX, it would truly make my day ☕🤎

I plan to keep actively developing the app going forward. If you enjoy using it, following along on X or FANBOX would mean a lot!
