License and usage
An overview of the Caramel Board license and what you can and can't do.
Caramel Board is provided under the Caramel Board Source Available License 1.0. The source code is public, but this is not an OSI-approved open source license. This page is an overview; the terms on GitHub take precedence.
What you can do
- Use it at home or within an organization, whether an individual or a company. Commercial in-house use is allowed
- View and modify the source code, and build it for your own use or use within your organization
- Use fork, Issues, and Pull Requests on GitHub for development, evaluation, and contribution
What you can’t do (requires separate permission)
- Distribute, sell, or provide built apps, installers, and the like to third parties
- Provide Caramel Board, or a substantially identical app, to third parties as a hosting service or SaaS
- Distribute rebranded versions, or use the Caramel Board name or logo in a way that could be mistaken for official
For permission to distribute or provide commercially, see COMMERCIAL-LICENSE.md.
Notes on scope of use
Caramel Board is intended for use on devices and networks you manage yourself. Exposing it directly to the internet without access control is not intended. → View from a phone or tablet
