Migrate from the old Docker version
Carry your data over from the old command-line/Docker version to Desktop.
This page is for people who used the old CLI or Docker version. The old version is no longer updated, and we recommend migrating to Desktop. It doesn’t apply to people just getting started.
Before you migrate
- Back up the data from your old environment (the database and media files)
- Confirm that the destination PC has about as much free disk space as the old environment
Migrate
The current Desktop version doesn’t include a feature to load old Docker version data directly. To migrate, first go through the old Desktop version (v1.0.10), which included the migration feature, import your data there, and then update to the latest version.
After migrating
- Check that the stack count, tags, and collections are all present
- Check that thumbnails appear (if they don’t, run a Full Refresh on the library)
If everything looks right, you can stop the old environment.
If it doesn’t work
