Scratch

Scratch is a temporary holding area for gathering items while you work. Use it as a desk to toss things onto — references for the current task, or things you’re about to organize. Unlike Favorites or collections, it isn’t a place to keep things.

Gather items

• Right-click a stack and choose Add to Scratch.
• Drag and drop onto Scratch in the sidebar.

Check the contents anytime under Scratch in the sidebar. If you use it often, Pin to the header keeps it one click away.

When you’re done

• Keep — Convert to Collection turns the gathered items into a collection as-is.
• Clear out — Clear Scratch empties it (the items themselves aren’t deleted).
