[Extra] Use it remotely with Tailscale

To use Caramel Board away from home, Tailscale, a VPN service, is a good option. It lets your devices reach your home PC safely, without risky exposure such as opening router ports.

Why Tailscale

• Free for personal use
• Each device gets a stable IP address, so the address you access never changes
• Devices signed in to the same account are connected over the VPN, and work as if they were on your home network — even from outside

Steps at a glance

1. Create a Tailscale account
2. Install the Tailscale app on the PC running Caramel Board and sign in
3. Install the app on the devices you want to use — phone, tablet, and so on — and sign in with the same account
4. From the device’s browser, open http://(your server PC's Tailscale IP):6777 and confirm it loads

You can find the server PC’s IP address in the Tailscale admin console or in each device’s app.

While you use it away from home, the PC at home needs to stay on with Caramel Board running. Check your power settings so the PC doesn’t go to sleep.
